| Description: |
Have you wondered whether there is a different way, a better way, for us to be and to learn? The Togethering is about experiencing, learning, and understanding that way. The Togethering is a time for people who want to experience Coyote Mentoring. Participants will become members of a village as they live these ways for this brief time. This will be an experience of being and learning together that is based on models developed and gifted from still-healthy cultures that draw on hundreds years of living in healthy community. The Togethering is about soft skills: How do we pass knowledge on to others in a way that is empowering, effective, and fun? How do we enrich our lives together as well as in solitude? How do we resolve differing interests and needs in a healthy and respectful way? (You will see ancient skills applied because they are part of this way of being, and perhaps there will be mentoring in some of these skills, but they are not the focus.) This is about reaching out toward something healthy, real, inspiring, beautiful, and attainable. You will hear about good ways to be, not about what’s wrong. What The Togethering holds for you: - You will learn circle models for working well together. - You will learn how to learn, how to pass knowledge on in an “invisible school”. - You will learn about the power of healthy relationships among the generations. - You will learn how a well-functioning group relies on each of its members to contribute to the relationships within the group and between groups by giving each member a role within the circle of equals. - You will experience solitude in a way that facilitates a personal connection with the natural world. - You will discover how to enrich every moment and every interaction through simple ceremonies, and discover the importance and power of ceremony in bringing people together. - You will play, eat, sing, smile, and learn. Please bring your musical instruments. We will make music together. We will balance the experience of this community with learning how it works on a deeper level, and how to take the attitudes, concepts, tools, and techniques home to your other communities. In this first year we are not able to offer programs for young ones. The program we offer is most suitable for those over 14 years of age; little ones are welcome, and their care will be the responsibility of those who accompany them. It is our hope that this will become an annual event. Maximum 32 participants. Questions? Send me an email at wgietz@windwalker.ca. |
